Red-faced warbler
6" x 8" on Japanese kozo-shi paper
One of a signed & numbered edition of 11
A beautiful bird, the Red-faced warbler is found in the US only in New Mexico & Arizona. They breed in high-elevation forests and build their nests on the ground, hidden in the roots of maple trees. Their song pervades the Coconino National Forest of Arizona, where I spent a summer, though be careful - they sound almost like a Yellow warbler!
